The remix that was never meant to be .
Someone asked me to upload the 'Chief Beats' version of Chief Rocka .

I had an idea to tweak the mix , tighten it up , add a few db's here and there before uploading .. but it turned into the proverbial 'run away train' .

For various reasons I didn't have any of the original parts - midi or audio stems .. so even if I'd wanted to I couldn't start from scratch .
So in a way it's a good job it happened like this .

On a side note ; it's surreal to think the original release was 23 years ago when I was running just an Apple Mac G4 with Logic and a load of outboard gear .
This was pre my Pro Tools years , not as much as a plug-in in sight !

I've always said my solo releases are about making music I want to LISTEN to rather than being geared towards the dance floor .
I want to sit in front of the speakers and have my ears tickled.
The cuts and chops aren't there for show .. anyone can do that stuff these days .. the most important part is making sure the MUSIC comes first and the edits COMPLIMENT rather than distract .
That's the aim anyway . .
